Who is Table of Life for?

Table of Life is a Christian community for people seeking deeper community, slower discipleship, and a faith shaped by Jesus that can hold doubt, suffering, and real life.

We don’t name these groups to place people in boxes, but to offer an honest invitation. Many of us arrive carrying stories of doubt, exhaustion, loneliness, or disappointment with the church. Table of Life exists for people who are willing to bring their real selves and learn, over time, how to follow Jesus together in community.

For the deconstructing, you belong

Faith often breaks down in loss. When Jesus has only been allowed to shape our behaviors or doctrines, our faith can falter when life’s deepest wounds come to us. Doubt is not always a failure of belief; often it is a sign that our faith needs to go deeper.

Table of Life is seeking to be a church that can hold your questions and doubts without fear. We are not interested in a faith built on “do’s and don’ts,” but in a community whose emotions, souls, and wills are slowly being shaped by Jesus Christ.

For the hollow and the lonely, you belong

Many of us learned how to spiritually survive, but never how to trust. We heard sermons about how Jesus could make our lives better, yet rarely experienced being truly seen or known by the people of the church.

Table of Life is seeking to build a real Christian community where people are known over time. We can’t promise instant belonging, but we commit to shared life—walking together through joy, suffering, and uncertainty as we pursue Jesus side by side. Our leaders don’t preach from pedestals; we weather life’s storms together.

For the burnt out, you belong

Burnout often comes from carrying more than we were meant to carry—serving without rest, believing without being supported, giving without being cared for. Many people leave church not because they stopped loving Jesus, but because they were exhausted.

Table of Life is shaped by a slower, more sustainable vision of faith. We value rest, limits, and mutual care. Following Jesus is not a race to prove our devotion, but a lifelong journey of learning how to live, love, and trust in grace.

For the skeptical and searching, you belong

Some of us come with curiosity instead of certainty. We have questions about faith, the Bible, the church, or even God himself. We may want to believe, but we’re not ready to pretend.

Table of Life is a place where questions are welcome and honesty is valued. You don’t need to have everything figured out to belong. We believe faith grows best in the presence of patience, humility, and real conversation.

For people disillusioned with church but not done with Jesus, you belong

For many, the pain isn’t with Jesus, but with the ways his name has been used—to control, exclude, shame, or harm. Disillusionment can be a form of grief, not rebellion.

Table of Life is not about rebuilding old systems or defending institutions. We are seeking to follow Jesus in a way that is gentle, truthful, and rooted in love. If you are still drawn to Christ but unsure what church could be, we would be honored to walk with you.

We’re not perfect. But Jesus is.

Table of Life is learning to practice presence over performance. We seek to be gentle with the hurting and to point the wounded toward our Savior. We value spiritual formation over pressure, trusting that real change takes time and happens best in community.

Still, we are not perfect. A community this close will mean that we will hurt one another at times. What binds us together is not our ability to avoid failure, but the love of Jesus—lived out through repentance, forgiveness, and remembering that he first forgave us.
