A prayer for Fathers

O God, our Wise and Gentle Father,

You teach with love and lead with truth.

Thank You for fathers,

who carry the quiet weight of leading their homes.

You have called them not to anger their children,

but to bring them up

with Your Word in their hearts

and Your kindness in their hands.

Give every father the courage to guide,

not with loudness, but with wisdom.

Let them speak truth like the fathers of Proverbs—

not to show off knowledge,

but to show the path of life.

Make their voices firm, but full of grace.

Make their hearts soft, but full of strength.

Let them teach what matters most:

the fear of the Lord,

the joy of walking with Jesus,

the hope that never fails.

When no one thanks them, thank them.

When they feel unsure, guide them.

When they grow tired, carry them.

O Lord,

raise up fathers who pray in secret,

who serve without being seen,

who lead their families

not to their own greatness,

but to Yours.

Amen
